Why this job is important:

The Payroll Specialist is integral to the team as the main point of contact for our employees across the US for all inquiries and issues related to compensation.

A typical day might include:

  • Process payroll for all employees in the US (biweekly and semi-monthly) along with Canada
  • Report to department manager regarding daily activities and issues
  • Work directly with business partners to achieve organization goals as required
  • Address and resolve payroll related queries/issues
  • Run GL related reports for month end activities for the staff accounting team
  • Finalize 401k contributions in Fidelity post payroll completion
  • Upload contributions to Manulife (Canada’s pension) post payroll completion

This role may be a fit for you if:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred or related work experience
  • Proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced environment required
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws
  • Good understanding of the common fiscal procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Physically able to work seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time

  • Setting up additional taxing jurisdictions
